exploring health as a form of wealth
One of the things that I've noticed in my process of writing a book is that the financial advisors I'm interviewing are sometimes going a whole day without thinking about their health.
Since longevity has been linked to conscientiousness (being aware and wanting to do a good job), I wanted to bring this topic up to you. So, I'll ask you - have you thought about your health today? If it's been awhile since you were aware of your body, join me in a quick 'exercise'... *Close your eyes & scan your body. Where do you feel tense? Do you need to let your shoulders drop or relax the muscles of your face? Does anything hurt or feel fidgety? When was the last time you got out of your chair to move around a little? Move your breath to your belly and then stand up for a stretch or walk around the room.* I know this stuff sounds basic, but almost NOBODY does it on a regular basis. We are cut off from the neck down most of our working day. So, just like you would check your bank balance or gas tank, check in with your body regularly throughout the day. What does 'regularly' mean? Try the top of every hour. That works for a lot of people, and if you move for just a few minutes every 30-60 minutes you break up your sedentary bouts and reap benefits. According to a 2019 study, "physical activity of any intensity (and of any length of time)" helps mitigate risks of a sedentary lifestyle.
