The first thing everyone wants to know about me is if my parents wanted a boy. So, here's the story.
When I was a little girl, I hated my name. Roll call on the first day of school was embarrassing. Teachers stuttered, kids stared, and I would always ask my mom and dad why they gave me a boy's name. The answer was always the same. "We liked it and had a different name picked out if you were a boy. Don't worry. It will build character." I learned to deal with it, and even found humor in watching other people struggle with it. My life's theme song became "The Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash.
Unlike today, it was a cultural stretch in the 70's and 80's to have a name like mine. Thanks to my parents, I (and those around me) had to rethink traditional concepts about names. I think that played a vital role in who I am today. I'm all grown up, now, and no longer hate my name. I haven't for a long time. It's who I am. I am the girl named Stevyn.
What I Do.
I am the CEO of WanderWell and the Founder of ActiveOffice.org. I help leaders & executives get their health back on the right track, even in the midst of busy, stressful lives.
⛔ WHY? The two biggest health threats for people in leadership positions are chronic stress and sedentariness. This 'toxic cocktail' is a silent killer of long term health and productivity.
✅ WHAT I BELIEVE: Health is won or lost in the place where you spend the most of your time...not the gym.
✅ WHO I WORK WITH: CEO's, VP's, Executives & Leaders
⭐️ ABOUT ME: I am a veteran of the fitness industry. With a master’s degree in exercise science, I have conducted research for the NIH and led corporate wellness & cardiac rehab programs. I have worked with some of the biggest brands in fitness & launched programs in both the US & Australia.

What I've Learned.
In my 20's, I thought that being healthy was about 1 thing: WORKING OUT HARD In my 30's, I thought that being healthy was about 2 things: WORKING OUT HARD & NOT EATING JUNK In my 40's, I see the folly in my previous thinking & realize that being healthy is so much simpler than I ever imagined. You can watch the training about that by clicking the button below.
Besides my love of wellness, I also have wanderlust (a love for travel). So, whether traveling in an Airstream, hitting the beaches of Australia, or biking in the foothills of Colorado with my husband and two children. I document our adventures and my thoughts about wellness in my WanderWell Blog.
I am a Movement Advocate, Stress Slayer, Squatter and mother of a squatter, Wanna-be Australian, Heaven-Bound Believer, Pelvic Floor Enthusiast, and 85% Dark Chocolate Lover. My heaven is a sunny day spent by clear blue water with a pair of goggles exploring underwater rock formations. One thing on my bucket list is to swim with a whale shark.
